This two-story luxury house, under 5,000 square feet, was designed for an artist in the Upper Valley and reinterprets the El Paso vernacular through its thoughtful mix of local materials—stone, stucco, and metal elements used throughout. The wood-framed home is nestled within a dense tree canopy and features a decorative screen façade that both complements the natural surroundings and acts as a barrier against the harsh El Paso sun.

The client’s artistic mindset influenced key design decisions, such as the sunken outdoor living room surrounded by the pool and a one-of-a-kind stone kitchen island. The layout was carefully crafted to showcase the client’s unique art collection and to create a welcoming environment for social gatherings.
