Sebastian Escobar Garcia
Sebastian was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised across the border in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Interested in art, drawing, graphic design, and animation from a very young age, he studied at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where he received both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Architecture. After graduating, he worked as a Designer and Project Architect in Austin, Texas, where he gained experience working on medium- to large-scale public and municipal projects throughout the state. As an architect, he values the connection between the built environment and the context of a place, as well as the materials and scale used to unite them. After completing the requirements to register as a Texas Architect in 2018, he formed MAS and relocated back to the border region to broaden his understanding of regional architecture while exploring the space between an analog and digital studio.
